B.J. Penn Tackles New Role with UFC gym
Hawaii’s mixed martial arts hero B.J. Penn greeted fans Wednesday as his new business venture, a fitness center called UFC Gym, held an open house at its Kakaako showroom on Ala Moana Boulevard. “If you want to see me, come down to UFC Gym,” said Penn, when asked if fans might be seeing him in the ring soon. “I’m going to be taking some time off, so definitely I’m glad that I’ll have the UFC Gym to keep me busy.”click to read more

Michael Bisping, a UFC fighter and current coach on Spike TV’s “Ultimate Fighter” will be at Corona’s UFC Gym today from 5 to 7 p.m. as part of a UFC Octagon Nation Tour leading up to Saturday’s card at the Honda Center. Today’s promotional fanfest at the Corona gym is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., offering the opportunity for visitors to test their fitness skills with a weigh-in, high jump, pull-up contest and a punch strength station (where fans scoring higher than 920 will be entered for a chance to win an all-expenses paid trip to witness the filming of HDNet’s Inside MMA), among other activities. An MMA Workout At BJ Penn’s Gym
Two-time UFC champion BJ Penn has partnered with UFC Gym to open a Hawaii facility in Kakaako at the space formerly occupied by Pipeline Cafe. The new gym won’t be open for about six months, but memberships are on sale now at an enrollment center/showroom at 660 Ala Moana Blvd., where guests can get a sample of some of the equipment they will find at the new gym. click to read more
